Our 运动医学 Program provides health care services for the student-athletes of Moreau Catholic High School. We employ a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer to ensure that student-athletes receive quality medical care.
Certified athletic trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled, allied healthcare professionals. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA), Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an allied healthcare profession.
戴夫布鲁顿 was appointed Head Athletic Trainer at Moreau Catholic in 2019. 除了 to providing medical coverage for Moreau’s student-athletes, he is also an American Red Cross Instructor and provides CPR/First Aid/AED certification courses for Moreau coaches.
教练戴夫 received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Athletic Training from California State University East Bay and a Master of Science from California Baptist University. He is recognized as a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association, and is a professional member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. 除了, he is responsible for ImPACT baseline and post-concussion testing administration at Moreau. As part of his certifications, he completes ongoing continuing education courses.
In the case of injury/illness, our athletic trainer will provide the student-athlete with a comprehensive examination of his/her injury. Based on his assessment, 教练戴夫 will determine the functional limitations that have resulted from the injury or illness. When deemed necessary, 教练戴夫 will provide a referral to the student-athlete’s physician. A treatment and rehabilitation plan based on the findings from the examination will be provided to the athlete to assist in the recovery of the injury. 除了, communication to the athlete’s family will be initiated through Appryse.
The Athletic Training Room is located near the Main Gym. Entrances are located through the lobby and the main gym.
The Athletic Training Room is equipped with treatment tables, 录表, cardiovascular equipment and strength-training equipment. The facility provides student-athletes with space for therapeutic exercises using physiotherapy balls, 药球, Theraband and balance devices, each of which are designed to improve functional movement patterns. 除了, therapeutic modalities and a whirlpool are available and utilized to assist with injury recovery.
- Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 在午餐, after school starting at 3:00PM, 3:30PM will be at practices and/or games on campus.

Injury or Illness: When a student-athlete is injured or ill and sees a physician, a written note from the treating physician must be submitted to 教练戴夫 prior to returning to athletic participation.The written note should include a diagnosis, any physical limitations, and a clearance date for full athletic participation.
Head Injury or Concussion: When a student-athlete is returning from a head injury/concussion, please note that their return will not be immediate once cleared. Per CIF bylaws and Ca State Law AB 2127, return to play cannot be sooner than 7 days after evaluation by a physician (MD/DO) who has made the diagnosis of concussion and only after completing a gradual return to play protocol. The return to play protocol will be conducted in the Athletic Training Room under the supervision of the athletic trainer and will begin once the athlete is symptom free.
